The present building is more than 20 years old. It has capacity to hold maximum of 22 children. The existing amenities needs an upgrade. Also there has been a consistent demand to increase the intake capacity. However, the present infrastructure is insufkcient to meet the demand. In order to achieve the requisite strength, the existing structure needs to be demolished and rebuilt. The proposed new building can accommodate about 50 children with a possibility to add another 25 children if the need arises.

Nele Foundation was bestowed with the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Amritamahotsava Award for the year 2022 recognising the stellar role played by the institute in upliftment of destitute children.
